About the role

CREW Carbon is seeking an Intern to support our strategic finance efforts as we scale our water treatment & carbon removal technology. This is a high-impact, entrepreneurial role at the intersection of finance, strategy, and research. The ideal candidate is a current or recent graduate student with a background in finance, consulting, and/or startup operations who thrives in fast-paced, mission-driven environments.

You’ll work directly with CREW’s Head of Finance to support building project models, developing investment processes, delivering insights from financial analyses, and ideating on capitalization strategies. You’ll also help implement scalable systems that improve how we operate across commercial and finance workflows.

Location will be onsite at our office in Brooklyn, or remote within the US.

Responsibilities

  • Build and refine financial models to support project-level diligence, capital allocation decisions, and company-wide forecasting.
  • Enhance and optimize financial tools, including but not limited to technoeconomic analyses (TEA), Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs), to improve accuracy, scalability, and decision-making across projects.
  • Help build and maintain systems to track pipeline activity across commercial and finance teams, with an emphasis on investment analysis and final investment decisions (FID).
  • Contribute to competitive benchmarking, unit economics analysis, pricing strategy, and margin optimization.
  • Conduct market, policy, and customer research to inform investment theses, revenue projections, and go-to-market strategy.
  • Support development of investor-facing materials, including investment memos, pitch decks, financial summaries, and diligence materials.

Required Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a graduate degree (e.g., MBA, MPP, engineering, finance), or a non-student with relevant experience in consulting, finance, or startups.
  • Previous experience in management investment banking, private investments, consulting or a fast-paced startup role.
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills, with attention to detail.
  • Exceptional communication skills – written, visual, and verbal.
  • Ability to structure and distill complex information for a range of audiences (investors, customers, partners).
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity and taking initiative to drive clarity and progress.
  • Passionate about climate innovation, decarbonization, and mission-driven work.

Bonus qualifications

  • Familiarity with climate tech, carbon removal, or environmental markets.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Google Suite, and Asana (or similar productivity tools).
  • Experience with CRM systems, such as Hubspot or Salesforce.
