About the role

CREW Carbon is seeking a Part-Time Lab Technician / Intern to support the day-to-day operations of our science team based in New Haven. This role is essential to improving the efficiency and optimization of lab workflows by assisting with sample processing, analytical preparation, and data organization. You’ll work closely with the analytical scientists at CREW Carbon conducting field-based and laboratory research focused on carbon dioxide removal through enhanced weathering and wastewater treatment.

This is an excellent opportunity for a science student or early-career lab professional looking for hands-on experience with analytical instrumentation, wet chemistry, and real-world environmental experimentation in engineered systems. The position requires a minimum of 2 days per week in-person (Thursday and Friday), with potential for a third day based on candidate availability and lab needs.

Location will be onsite at our office in New Haven, CT.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and process aqueous samples collected from partner wastewater sites.
  • Prepare and label samples, reagents, and standards for analytical instrumentation and data collection.
  • Conduct acid washing and cleaning of labware to maintain lab standards.
  • Maintain sample and consumable inventory in the lab.
  • Support data collection, export, and organization from ongoing deployments, with a focus on alkalinity measurements

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with wet chemistry techniques and general lab practices.
  • Familiarity with analytical instrumentation and lab equipment (e.g., I titrators, pH meters, balances, pipettes, etc.).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in sample handling and data documentation.
  • Basic understanding of data reduction and organization in Excel or Google Sheets.
  • Preference for candidates with experience in Python or an interest in basic data scripting.

Additional Information

  • This is an hourly, part-time role with on-site work required in New Haven.
  • Students from environmental science, chemistry, chemical engineering, or related disciplines are especially encouraged to apply.

About the role

CREW Carbon is seeking a Commercial & Finance Intern to support our go-to-market and strategic finance efforts as we scale our carbon removal technology. This is a high-impact, entrepreneurial role at the intersection of finance, strategy, sales, and research. The ideal candidate is a current or recent graduate student with a background in consulting, finance, business development, or startup operations who thrives in fast-paced, mission-driven environments.

You’ll work directly with CREW’s commercial and finance  teams to support building sales and marketing assets, engaging in market research, and developing insights from financial models. You’ll also help implement scalable systems that improve how we operate across commercial and finance workflows.

Location will be onsite at our office in Brooklyn, or remote within the US.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct market, policy, and customer research to support business development and investment strategy.
  • Develop sales and marketing materials such as one-pagers, case studies, slide decks, and technical summaries.
  • Prepare and synthesize customer and partner pre-call research, including regulatory context, buyer needs, and project alignment.
  • Help implement efficient procedures and systems for tracking BD/investor pipelines, customer touchpoints, and external communications.
  • Contribute to competitive analysis, pricing strategy, and value proposition development.
  • Build and refine financial models to support project diligence and internal forecasting.

Required Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a graduate degree (e.g., MBA, MPP, engineering, finance), or a non-student with relevant experience in consulting, finance, or startups.
  • Previous experience in management consulting, investment banking, business development, or a fast-paced startup role.
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills, with attention to detail.
  • Exceptional communication skills – written, visual, and verbal.
  • Ability to structure and distill complex information for a range of audiences (investors, customers, partners).
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity and taking initiative to drive clarity and progress.
  • Passionate about climate innovation, decarbonization, and mission-driven work.

Bonus qualifications

  • Familiarity with climate tech, carbon removal, or environmental markets.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Google Suite, and Asana (or similar productivity tools).
  • Experience with CRM systems, such as Hubspot or Salesforce.
